I found myself totally concentrate in the book, reading cardinal pages at a era! Although this book revolved almost the lives of women in Afghan society, I still really e njoyed it. The book starts off illustrating the life of the early protagonist, Mariam. She lives with her mother but is raise by her father, who lives international from his family, in a more soused part of the town. The book quickly moves on, showing how Mariam faces umpteen tragedies and ends up marrying Rasheed, an older man, and then moves away from home to start her naked as a jaybird married life.

As the theme progresses we see how Rasheeds way changes drastically. Soon the life Mariam was hoping to happen happiness in becomes honorable of misery and pain. Khaled Hosseini then introduces a new, contrast ing woman into the novel, Laila. Although sh! e has no connection to Mariam when she is first introduced, we catch out about Lailas life and how her misfortune also makes her Rasheeds wife. The two women, who now share the husband, grow to become acceptable friends and plan many ways of escaping their miserable lives to amounther.
